Building on the research you previously conducted, we will narrow our focus. For this assignment, please find a real job posting that you would qualify for either currently or after graduation from your current program.
As you work, please be mindful that your cover letter and resume speak for you and are often your first opportunity to convince a prospective employer that YOU are the BEST person for the job. Ideally, your cover letter and resume should present a customized, comprehensive set of arguments and supporting details for what you can do for the employer.
Hint: Please see a variety of materials in this week’s Instructional Materials folder to support your efforts.
Reminder: Although it is generally appropriate to use bullet points in a cover letter, to encourage you to develop well-reasoned and well-written arguments in your cover letter, you may NOT use bullet points in your cover letter for our class. Please see the Instructional Materials folder for the required four-paragraph cover letter model.
Submission Information and Reminder to Separately Submit Cover Letter and Resume to Your Group
Important: Since you will share your cover letter, resume, and position posting with your group to facilitate the mock interview process, please use the school mailing address and your student email address on your materials, and redact any personal information that you do not wish to share.
In addition to submitting your cover letter, resume, and a copy of the position posting that you are interested in as ONE complete MS Word compatible file here, please be sure to submit the same files to your group by the assignment deadline to facilitate the upcoming mock interviews.
Remember, you MUST submit your targeted cover letter, resume, and position description of interest here AND share with your group by the assignment deadline.
