Unit 4 Summary and Definition of a Relevant Health Issue

Write a 3- to 4-page paper that begins with a summary and definition of a specific, observable, measurable, and relevant health issue affecting a particular demographic. Ensure you include statistics to help describe the health issue. Then, address the following:

  • Suggest a survey method for gathering additional data on the topic, defining any special populations within your demographic that might require a tailored approach.
  • Create a basic survey question based on your Unit 1 and Unit 2 topic with numerical parameters for response (you may choose your own survey parameters and primary research question. For example: On a scale from 17, how many days per week has chronic pain impacted your ability to work? Is a valid survey question with established response parameters).
  • Create an artificial data table of 20 survey respondents numerical results from the experimental group and report the measures of central tendency for those results (mean, median, and mode).
  • Briefly describe the mathematical processes of obtaining measures of central tendency from your data table – showing any mathematical expressions or equations as necessary.
  • Conclude your paper with a rationale of potential issues with utilizing your data set for broader distribution to the public (examples of common issues may include a small sample size or significant outliers). When discussing potential issues, at minimum, you must discuss cultural and health literacy variables in delivering your data to a disadvantaged audience and one other obstacle.

The following requirements apply to this assignment:

  • Paper is 34 pages in length, excluding any title page, references, appendices, etc.
  • Logical flow from beginning to end to exhibit well-ordered and unified expression, with your viewpoint and purpose clearly established and sustained throughout the document.
  • Original and insightful thought.
  • Seamlessly integrate research to support your ideas on the topic.
  • Adherence to established conventions of Standard English, e.g., correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • At least five references on the topic.
  • Adherence to APA formatting, including a formatted title page, a reference page, and proper notation for your data table.
