Practicum SEL Portfolio (200 points) The required portfolio for this course is a written report bringing together your goals, possible professional and personal development and networking or volunteer options, a description of your practicum experience, and the selection of one to two of your best graded Course Projects (from previous AHIT program courses) with a reflection of what you have learned and how you have grown since completing the project(s), and if there is anything you would change if you were to complete them again. Personal Career Goals & Reflections Length Required: One Page; Worth: 10 Points Utilize SMART goal method. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. Short-term career goal : Where do you see yourself in 35 years? Long-term goal: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Did your practicum experience change your career goals, and if so, why? Note: You may want to consider exploring the AHIMA Career Map and/or O*Net, searching for career roles related to Health Information Technologist and Health Information Management/Administrator to assist you. Development & Networking/Volunteer Opportunities Length Required: Half Page to One Page; Worth: 10 Points Identify one to two potential professional or personal growth opportunities you are interested in. Identify one to two possible networking or volunteer opportunities to explore (i.e., state or regional AHIMA annual meeting, any professional organizations close to you, etc.). PATH 2: AHIT Virtual SEL Program Experience Name of industry professionals that held live/recorded events offered this session For each of the industry professionals you listed, provide a thoughtful summary of what insight they shared from their experience(s). Share two things (e.g., HIT tasks, processes, protocols, best practices, etc.) that you learned from the live/recorded events that helped you connect previous program coursework with industry job roles/expectations; Describe how this insight will help you are you prepare for your career.
