  • Construct a Rogerian Argument

Touchstone 3.1: Construct a Rogerian Argument

ASSIGNMENT: As you learned in this unit, a Rogerian argument is one that presents two sides of a debate and argues for a solution that will satisfy both sides. Given the two articles linked below that present opposing sides of an issue (mandatory uniforms in schools vs. some kind of dress code), construct your own 2-3 page Rogerian argument essay in which you attempt to arrive at a concrete, workable solution or “middle ground” citing three accurate, direct quotations from the sources to support your claim.

NOTE: Citing or referencing sources not included in this assignment or inaccurately citing direct quotations not found in these sources will negatively impact the score (see Summary of Positions and Thesis/Claim components in the rubric).

The essay should contain the following components:

    1. An introduction that accurately presents both sources (i.e., author, title, year of publication, and their relative position in the debate), as well as your middle ground thesis statement.

    2. A body paragraph that summarizes the pro-uniform rationales. (Both articles can be used, but focus on Anderson).

    3. A body paragraph that summarizes the anti-uniform/pro-dress code rationales. (Both articles can be used, but focus on Deane).

    4. A body paragraph that critically compares and contrasts both sides of the debate.

    5. A conclusion that further develops your proposed middle-ground solution and demonstrates how it satisfies both sides of the debate.

In order to foster learning and growth, all work you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any plagiarized or recycled work will result in a Plagiarism Detected alert. • Reflective Journal: Chronic disease management

    Reflective Journal

    Chronic disease management

We use care plan meeting to collaborate with patient and family. This is done by the IDT- interdisciplinary team. This has Nurse, dietician, recreation, pharmacy, MD, and social work. We talk about their drug regime and see if pharmacy can continue what they have been taking. We assess also how much the patient or the family understands the medication and why they are taking it.

A lot of time we know that these patients may go through a culture shock transitioning from the hospital to the rehab facility. So aim to answer all the questions to make them as comfortable as we can. Keeping into account the different rules and regulation that are in place for the nursing home compare to other facilities. CMS/DOH.

We work together and coordinate the care plan because it allow all those who are involved with the patient to be on the same page and it gives that patient care center. It allows everyone to address the needs of the patient. In the facility we drain the Pleurex catheter in the morning for everyone, however, this patient requests in the evening because they sometimes get tired and exhausted depending on the amount that has been drawn out. We agree to do that resident draw in the evening as per their request because it is all about the patient and the need to help them rehab and return home.

ABOVE IS WHAT WE SPOKE ABOUT. PLEASE EDIT. i HAVE ATTACH THE DOCUMENT THAT CORRELATE WITH THE JOURNAL IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THE JOURNAL FLOW WITH IDEAS FROM IT ALSO

    Final Paper (Problem Analysis)

    Assignment Instructions

This analysis project requires you to tackle a problem within your field of study by first exploring the problem, its causes, and its impacts. Then, if you want, you can recommend one or more practical solutions to solve the problem. After deciding on the problem you wish to tackle, begin building questions about it. Your goal for the analysis is to answer the questions through your sources. Finding multiple angles and perspectives is ideal so that you explore those possibilities in the final paper before settling on your recommendation. Be sure to identify what is at stake.

Here are questions to help guide your analysis:

    1. What is the problem being addressed (explain, describe, and “prove” that it exists)?
    2. Who is affected by this problem?
    3. Why does this problem exist? (Identify the root causes.)
    4. Why does the problem persist? (Identify the major factors that contribute to the problem’s ongoing presence.)
    5. What is at stake if the problem is not solved?

If you choose to address a solution (you don’t have to), you may find these prompts helpful:

    1. Who can take action?
    2. What should they do, exactly?
    3. Why would this help?
    4. What are the positive and negative aspects of your solution(s)?
    • PURPOSE: To analyze a problem and possibly provide a solution
    • AUDIENCE: Classmates and others interested in the field
    • LENGTH: 750-900 words (Times New Roman font). Please do not go significantly (~10%) under or above the word count requirement. This word count includes only the paragraphs in your final essay (not the Works Cited/References page or previously submitted sections).
    • SOURCES: 5 (five) sources from the APUS Library (These may include sources you used in previous Assignments. Going under this number will cost points in grading.)
    • FORMAT: The citation style that is appropriate for your discipline. Most papers will use APA style.

Submit your Assignment as one Word document attached to the Assignment link so it can be automatically processed through Turnitin. You can save your paper with a title like this: Your Name Portfolio Final Paper. Do not submit multiple files or PDF files.

    Turnitin Scores

Because parts of the portfolio (items 1 and 2) have already been processed in Turnitin, they are now part of Turnitin’s database. That means that, when a portfolio is submitted, Turnitin will identify the phrasing it has previously “seen” (such as items 1 and 2 of the portfolio).

Turnitin scores are likely to be high for all portfolios. Don’t panic. Review the Turnitin report, and you will likely see that much of the matching phrasing is from work you previously submitted. Your instructor understands this and will focus on the Turnitin matches in the final paper.

As mentioned above, if the Turnitin AI score is high, your instructor is likely to give you the opportunity to re-write the assignment.
