I WOULD NEED YOUR EMAIL TO SEND YOU THE CAD FILE AND THEN YOU’LL NEED TO SEND IT BACK TO ME WHEN YOU’RE DONE VIA EMAIL.
OVERVIEW
In this Final Project Assignment, you will have the opportunity to work on a more complex
problem and present your results. You should use the knowledge you have gained through the 6
AutoCAD assignments to demonstrate your mastery.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open the provided drawing Final Project.dwg.
2. Set drawing units to ENGINEERING.
3. Draw the roadway centerline and the edges of the roadway as detailed in the textbook in
Chatper 15 (20 foot wide road). You can determine at what location youd like the road
to run, but it should run from left to right in straight path across the plan view.
4. Create the elevation view below the plan view by utilizing the centerline elevations.
Make sure to then include the proposed profile for your roadway, keeping in mind that
youll want to minimize cut and fill work.
5. Delineate the earthwork. There is an example of this process in chapter 16. You can
utilize a +/- 2% slope.
a. Draw vertical lines between two profiles.
b. Delineate cut and fill on the lower side of the road.
c. Extend the projection lines to the other edge of the road.
d. Repeat the delineation process for the other edge of the road.
e. Hatch and label the cut and fil as well as the roadway.
6. Utilizing the PnP layout tab, set the viewport scale to 1:400.
7. Update the text blocks in the title block for this class.
8. Plot to a .pdf utilizing the name format: LastName_ProjectNumber_Date.pdf.
9. Save the AutoCAD file utilizing the following file name format:
LastName_ProjectNumber_Date.dwg.
10. Submit both files to complete the project.
