    Scenario

    Imagine that you have an upcoming interview for an entry-level human resource position with a growing company. Because this is a growing organization, there is great activity in all stages of the employee life cycle. This HR role has the opportunity to shape the future of the organizations talent and culture. The interviewer asks you how Human Resources supports each stage of the life cycle. You need to explain the activities for which human resource professionals are responsible in each stage. You also need to explain how these activities benefit and support the employee experience.

    Directions

    Provide an examination of each stage of the employee life cycle in a PowerPoint presentation. Explain the responsibilities of human resource professionals for each stage of the life cycle. Provide a rationale for how these responsibilities support and positively impact the employee experience. You should include an overview and impact section for each stage of the life cycle as follows: attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and separation.

    The final section of the PowerPoint will provide an overview of the employee life cycle and employee experience by explaining why Human Resources should understand how the stages of the life cycle influence one another. Finally, provide an example, with a rationale from the course materials and/or Shapiro Library resources, of how at least two stages interact or influence one another.
