You will analyze a situation, evaluate how it was handled, and reflect on how you would lead differently.
Preparation
Before writing your paper:
- Review Covey (1991) Principle-Centered Leadership
- Reflect on a real managerial situation from your experience
Assignment Requirements
Write a 4-page paper (including cover page and references) that addresses the following:
1. Describe the Managerial Issue
- Briefly describe a real workplace situation involving a managerial challenge
- What was the issue?
- Who was involved? (You may omit or change names)
2. Analyze the Resolution
- How was the issue handled?
- Was the outcome effective or ineffective?
- Why?
3. Apply Coveys Principles
- Identify specific Principle-Centered Leadership (PCL) skills from Covey (1991)
- Explain how these skills were (or were not) applied in the situation
- Discuss how they contributed to the outcome
4. Reflect on Your Leadership Approach
- Would you handle the situation the same way?
- If not:
