Scenario

You are a newly hired psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) at a large hospital. As part of orientation and onboarding, the hospital requires all new nurse practitioners in each division to create a professional poster. Your poster will be presented at the poster presentation session and later displayed on your new unit. Your assigned poster topic was psychosis and disorders related to schizophrenia.

Instructions

Choose a disorder related to psychosis or schizophrenia, and create a professional poster using Microsoft PowerPoint. Include the following on your poster:

  • Description of the disorder/ diagnostic criteria
  • Neurobiology and suspected etiology
  • Explanation of how the disorder is differentiated from similar disorders
  • Supporting evidence is required, and references may be listed on the poster or in an additional document
