DISCUSSION #4: WHEN PARENTING CALLS
Parents around the world are faced with challenges each day to balance work, life and family duties.
Fathers around the world also are faced with the everyday chores of keeping up the demands of being a father, and often this can be challenging in today’s society. Student Parents today are faced with tasks each day that require support from their families, their friends and often their professors.
Review the link below and examine how the support of this young man’s professor helped him pass his examination when his parenting duty called for him to do both at the same time. Write a 1 page Reflection Paper after reviewing this video clip. Think about your own experiences or that of your own family members who sacrifice each day to keep their families in tact no matter the consequences. List two (2) examples of how you feel this could have gone wrong for the student had the professor not helped him as a student parent. What would have been the consequences of that decision or had he decided to miss his exam in Professor Nathan Alexander’s course due to his parenting duties. Give careful thought about what and how you would handle this situation and discuss it from a family perspective. Below is an example of a professor holding a student parent’s baby while teaching. Explain in details your thoughts and be sure to list references (in APA format) to support your opinion.
