1) You are the new CEO of Green Foods Grocery – a relatively new grocery store chain dedicated to providing healthy local/regional produce and foods to urban markets. The chain is 10 years old and has grown to include 8 stores and 1 distribution center in the upper Midwest. While Green Foods has a strong ethical culture, it has so far been based on informal norms and the statements of the founder (Tom Thumb), who has recently retired. At the last Board meeting, your Board of Directors tasked you with developing a formal ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE program for the company. Please outline the key components that you need to include in Green Foods’ Ethics and Compliance program, and the steps you would take to implement it. (Note: we discussed several different frameworks for ethics programs and regulatory compliance in weeks 5-6 of this course, you should select and use one of these as the basis for your answer.)
2) It is one year later and you are still the CEO of Green Foods Grocery, the grocery store chain dedicated to providing healthy local/regional produce and foods to urban markets. The chain is now 11 years old and has grown to include 12 stores and 2 distribution centers in the upper Midwest. The board is now giving you a new challenge: they have asked you to help develop a CSR program for the company. Please make a recommendation for the CSR Standard framework you believe would be best in this setting, describe the key components of that framework and how you would apply each component at Green Foods Grocery. (Note: we discussed several different CSR frameworks in week 7 of this course, you should select and use one of these as the basis for your answer.)
