Title: Leadership: A Real-World Interview and Analysis

Project Overview:

Your work will be presented in two formats:

  • A 35-page written paper (APA formatted)
  • A 5 minutes presentation delivered live

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Select & Interview a Leader

  • currently in a leadership role (coach Rui Alexandre, who founded the club Volley4 All in 2014 ( Portugal ) When he started, the club had very littlealmost nothingbut through his dedication, passion, and resilience, he built it from the ground up. Beyond that growth, he had a profound impact on my life. He showed me that it is possible to truly love the sport, to stay committed even in difficult moments, and to believe in something before others do. His example shaped not only how I see volleyball, but also how I approach challenges and leadership.)

2. Mandatory Interview Questions

You must ask these six core questions and then develop at least three additional questions of your own. Be prepared to explain why you chose those specific additional questions.

Required Questions:-just make everything up

  1. Who has had the most influence on your leadership style, and why?
  2. What values, attitudes, or types of courage did this person demonstrate?
  3. How has that shaped your own leadership approach?
  4. What are the most important decisions you make in your role?
  5. How do you motivate and influence your team to complete tasks?
  6. How do you overcome resistance when implementing change?

  7. Can you describe a time when you failed as a leader, and what you learned from it?
  8. How do you adapt your leadership style when working with different types of people?
  9. What qualities do you believe make someone an effective leader in todays world?

Written Paper Guidelines

Format your paper using APA style and include:

  • Title Page
  • Introduction: Brief overview of the purpose and scope of your interview.
  • Leader & Company Background: Short summary of who you interviewed, their leadership role, and their organization.
  • Organized Response Sections:
  • Use subheadings for each interview question and clearly document both the leaders responses and your analysis.
  • Critical Thinking & Concept Application:
  • Connect responses to specific leadership theories and models discussed in class (e.g., transformational leadership, servant leadership, organizational culture, motivational theories, etc.).
  • Conclusion: Summarize your biggest takeaways and how they will shape your future as a leader.
  • References Page

Length: 35 pages (not including title and reference pages)

Presentation Guidelines

Time: 5 minutes total

Your presentation should:

  • Briefly introduce your leader and their organization
  • Go beyond simply reporting answersanalyze and evaluate using leadership concepts from class
  • Showcase “aha” moments, key takeaways, and how the interview confirmed or challenged classroom knowledge
  • Be prepared to answer questions by your instructor and/or classmates

Final Slide: Highlight the two most important things you learned from the interview that will impact your leadership development.

This final project is your opportunity to demonstrate how far you’ve come as a critical thinker and future industry leader. Approach it seriously and take pride in showcasing your leadership learning in action.
