n this assignment, your understanding of theoretical perspectives will be assessed in the form of a brief case study. You will choose to analyze a famous personality from the first list below, using one theoretical perspective from the second list. We will be discussing these perspectives throughout the course.

Formatting
The body of your paper (excluding references) should be very brief, approximately 500 to 750 words or 2 to 3 pages double-spaced. For each of the three sections described below, you may choose to include headings if you wish. Cite all sources and format your paper according to APA guidelines. A cover page and abstract are NOT required for this brief assignment, but you are expected to adhere to APA formatting with regard to margins, typeface, spacing, and in-text citations. Also include a properly formatted References page. For assistance with formatting, refer to the POW-C Writing Center, , and/or the most current APA Publication Manual.
Structure of Paper
Section One: Introduction and Background
For the first section of your assignment, introduce your subject by providing some brief biographical context, such as their upbringing, major life events, etc., that you will draw upon later in your analysis. Be sure to cite all sources of information. You are welcome to use popular (i.e., non-scholarly) sources to obtain biographical information.
Section Two: Personal Characteristics
Then discuss the persons notable behaviors and characteristics that you will analyze using one of major theoretical frameworks for understanding personality.
Section Three: Analysis
Finally, analyze the individuals personality by discussing the subjects personality characteristics through the theoretical lens you have selected. For instance, if you selected psychoanalytic perspective, you might describe how the persons behavior may have stemmed from a specific fixation during psychosexual development as well as focusing upon unconscious motives and early childhood experiences. Be specific in your analysis and offer clear examples of your ideas, drawing upon the biographical data you reported as well as specific traits and behaviors that have been observed and reported. Use appropriate citations for the textbook and any other materials you choose to use to provide a basis for your ideas.
Given the brief nature of this assignment, it is not necessary to include a separate summary and conclusion.
