Components of the Paper
Each journal should include the following sections:
Title Page Include a separate APA-formatted title page.
Introduction – Introduce the topic you selected and provide context for the reader. Briefly explain the purpose of the activity and what your paper will explore.
Summary of the Activity – Describe the activity you completed. If the assignment involved collecting information (such as interviews, observations, or surveys), summarize the process and general patterns or insights that emerged. Specific demographics, questions asked, and raw data should be placed in the Appendix, not in the main body of the paper.
Connection to Course Concepts and Research – Connect your experience to ideas from the course and academic research. You may find that your experience supports, challenges, or expands course concepts. Share at least 3 concepts and sources to help explain and interpret what you observed or learned.
Critical Reflection and Insights – Reflect on your experience completing the activity. Consider what stood out to you, what you learned, and how the experience influenced your understanding of the topic.
Sociocultural Perspective – Discuss how psychologys sociocultural perspective relates to the activity. Consider how culture, social context, environment, or community experiences may shape the perspectives.
Conclusion – Summarize the key insights from your reflection and highlight the broader meaning or implications of the experience.
APA Formatting and Referencing:
- 3 – 4 pages in length (not including title page, appendix, or references)
- Double spaced
- 12-point Arial or Times New Roman
- 1-inch margins
- A minimum of two – 3 academic sources (course videos will not be accepted as academic references)
- APA in-text citations and reference list
- (optional)
Topic for this reflection journal :Love Advice After 30 Years – Interview a couple, over the age of 60 yrs old, who has been married or cohabitating together for 30 + years. For this journal you will want to rewatch the video and reread th article Better With Age both. You want to ask a minimum of 5 questions and prompt in-depth answers from the couple. You should be able to develop your questions after watching the video as well as reading the literature from Week TWO. This can be a completely hypotheical interview, but there needs to be questions and answers.
