includes a summative paragraph that offers an opinion as to which argument is more convincing
but does not base it on key points of evidence or is poorly written.
12-14 Student response addresses both articles. The response offers some evidence for each
article but misses many/most key points utilized by the respective historian. Response is missing a
summative paragraph.
0-12: Student response fails to cover both articles. Response offers lists of evidence that do not
reflect the points made by the respective historians. Response has not summative paragraph.
