According to William Ryan’s 1976 book, Blaming the Victim, often times society will blame the victim for the social problem they are facing. For this option, select an option and survey at least 5 individuals. You can send this survey to more people, if you would like. Complete your survey by using the Poll Everywhere (website).For assistance getting started and creating a survey, please watch this video.

Option 2 – Part 1: Poverty:

Locate at least 5 individuals who society would deem to be living at or close to middle or lower class. Keep in mind that many individuals live above their means so looks can be deceiving when considering the amount of debt families can accumulate.

After locating these individuals, survey them using the Poll Everywhere app.

Develop questions for your survey to ask about what life is like for them and potential questions to determine if they feel that society blames them for their current economic state. Be sure to include the question, “What do you wish individuals knew about poverty?”

Create at least 5 questions.
