It is crucial for teachers to have a firm foundation for their behavior management system and framework of classroom management based on well-researched behavior management models and systems.
This assignment will help inform the third section of your classroom management plan, Philosophy and Classroom Model.
Part 1: Exploring the Models
Utilize the Classroom Management Models template to complete the assignment. Research the different classroom management models that support a positive and productive classroom environment, including:
- Harry Wongs Effective Classroom
- Kagan, Kyle, and Scotts Win-Win Discipline
- Fred Jones Positive Classroom Discipline
- A model of your choice (e.g., Morrishs Real Discipline, Canter and Canters Assertive Discipline, Jeanne Gibbs Tribes)
For each model include the following information:
- Identify the main concepts of the model, including how it is implemented to create a positive and productive classroom environment that supports all students.
- Describe student expectations in the classroom when implementing the model.
- Explain how a classroom would be organized to support the model (types of visuals, layout of seating, etc.).
- Discuss the roles and responsibilities of the teacher when implementing and maintaining the classroom model with integrity.
Part 2: Choosing a Model
In 250-350 words reflect on the classroom management models researched. Include the following information in your reflection:
- Identify one of the research-based classroom management models from Part 1 that aligns with your personal classroom management philosophy. Explain how the model aligns with your philosophy and how it can be used in both a physical and digital learning environment.
- Discuss the type of learning environment you envision creating in your classroom and how your classroom management framework will support the learning needs of all students.
- Explain how your classroom management framework promotes self-motivation in students and creates opportunities for collaboration.
Support your deliverable with 2-3 scholarly resources.
