Trauma- and stressor-related disorders include disorders in which exposure to a traumatic or stressful event is listed explicitly as a diagnostic criterion. These include reactive attachment disorder, disinhibited social engagement disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), acute stress disorder, adjustment disorders, and prolonged grief disorder.

This assignment provides an opportunity to review, compare, contrast, diagnose, and demonstrate an understanding of the etiology, effects, and treatment options of the aforementioned conditions.

For this assignment, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover using Kaltura. You will address posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adjustment disorders, acute stress disorder, and one other disorder of your choice (e.g., reactive attachment disorder, disinhibited social engagement disorder, or prolonged grief disorder). Alternatively, your additional disorder of choice could reflect a deeper dive into a derivative of PTSD (e.g., refugee PTSD); a derivative of adjustment disorders (e.g., termination of a romantic relationship); or a derivative of acute stress disorder (e.g., acute stress following a sexual assault). The presentation should include the following slides:

    Slide 1: Title Slide

    Slide 2: Introduction

    Slides 37: Posttraumatic stress disorder

    Slides 812: Adjustment disorders

    Slides 1317: Acute stress disorder

    Slides 1822: Disorder of choice

    Slide 23: Summary

    Slide 24: References

For each disorder type, you will have five slides that address the following five topics:

    1. Etiology and prevalence of the disorder
    2. Diagnostic criteria and diagnostic features
    3. Differential diagnoses
    4. Pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments, including but not limited to therapies and follow-up
    5. Cultural, gender, ethnic, spiritual, and social considerations

  • Ethical and Policy Factors in Care Coordination

Develop and record a 1012 PowerPoint slide, 10-minute presentation, with audio, intended for a healthcare organization with colleagues and leadership as the audience. Create a detailed narrative script for your presentation.

This assessment provides an opportunity for you to develop a presentation for a healthcare organization, which provides an overview of ethical standards and relevant policy issues that affect the coordination of care. Completing this assessment will strengthen your understanding of ethical issues and policies related to the coordination and continuum of care and empower you to be a stronger advocate and nursing professional.

As coordinators of care, nurses must be aware of the code of ethics for nurses and health policy issues that affect the coordination of care within the context of the community. To help patients navigate the continuum of care, nurses must be proficient at interpreting and applying the code of ethics and health policy, specifically, the ACA. Being knowledgeable about ethical and policy issues helps ensure that care coordinators are upholding ethical standards and navigating policy issues that affect patient care.

    Presentation Format and Length

You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or other suitable presentation software to create your slides. Use Kaltura to create and record your audio/visual presentation.

Check that your Kaltura and PowerPoint software are working properly.

Important: Record your narrated presentation in Kaltura. Do not do a PowerPoint using the PPT Voice-Over” option, but instead use Kaltura to record yourself giving a presentation. Using a voice-over” option on PowerPoint will make your file too large to upload. Refer to the Campus resource for more information about this course room tool.

Be sure that your PPT slide deck includes the following slides:

    • Title slide.
    • Presentation title.
    • Your name.
    • Date.
    • Course number and title.
    • Slides should include APA references and/or in-text citations. You cannot have a reference slide without citing those references within the presentation.
    • References (at the end of your presentation).

Your slide deck should consist of 1012 slides, not including a title and reference slide. Your Kaltura presentation should not exceed 10 minutes.

Create a detailed narrative script for your presentation in APA format with proper citation of supporting evidence. This would be the script of what you would say in an actual presentation. You do not need to present to an organization.

    Supporting Evidence

Cite 45 credible sources from peer-reviewed journals or professional industry publications to support your presentation. Include your source citations on a references page appended to your narrative script. Use for guidance in citing sources in proper APA style. See the for more APA resources specific to your degree level.

Week 8 Clinical grade is an average of: Week 8 Case Study Clinical Participation ** Please copy and paste case study into a word document, complete, and upload here before due date. Case Study: INITIAL CLINICAL SCENARIO: The nurse is caring for Loretta, a 64-year-old female, admitted to the geropsychiatric unit with a diagnosis of Alzheimers disease of 2 years with decreasing cognitive functioning. A family member of the client has power of attorney, including health care proxy, and is available to answer questions. The family member reports that Loretta is getting worse (unable to care for herself, not responding to questions, occasional incoherent speech) and requires constant assistance and supervision. The family has a rotating schedule, but it is getting more difficult to care for her. Loretta presents with unawareness of environment and orientation. She is unable to follow simple commands except when requested by the family member. In responding to questions, her speech is mostly incoherent except for a couple of words. The family member states that she is not recognizing many of her family, even those close to her. If given simple instructions, she is unable to follow them. Vital Signs: BP 136/68, Temp. 98.4 orally, HR 72, Resp. 14, O2 Sat 97% on room air Labs: CBC and CMP within expected limits Orders: The provider has prescribed donepezil 10 mg po once a day. UNFOLDING CLINICAL SCENARIO INFORMATION: Loretta has been hospitalized for the past week waiting for transfer to a skilled nursing home with memory care. She is now being prepared for discharge. Little has changed in Lorettas demeanor and cognitive skills, though she loves when music therapy comes and becomes very animated and sings along. Discussion Questions: What assessment findings support the findings of Alzheimers? How is Alzheimers diagnosed? List and describe two different assessment scales that can be used to assess dementia. What safety considerations may be included when planning care for this client? What is donepezil? What is the mechanism of action? How does it work in the body? What symptoms would you expect to improve? What are the side effects of this medication? Contraindications? The nurse comes up with the following nursing problems. Please list and explain 4 nursing interventions for each. Risk for physical Harm Confusion Unable to care for Self What education should be provided to the patient about her condition? The Family? The nurse reports the patient enjoys music and music therapy. How could we incorporate this into the patients plan of care
