In this assignment, I would like you to find the colors of the 16 substances and color the chemistry-tree. Here is a of this document. If you don’t like the tree you might draw your own, keeping the same arrangement of the ornaments. The assignment might seem very easy, but the reason I created it is that I would like you to learn how to use a database of chemical compounds.
How to find the colors of some chemicals from the list? I chose two massive databases for you to explore. I also included detailed directions about how to find the information about the colors.
1. Use database of chemical compounds:
Simply, place the name of the chemical in a search window (bromine is just an example):
Last step, click at the chemical and physical properties , and follow by Appearance/physical state/color
2. There is another website I would like you to use in case you find Echa Europa problematic:
Simply type the name of a chemical, and from the list pick the one you are interested in, and find physical properties with a color description.
Attached you will find a pubchem search for lead II iodide.
Take a picture of your drawings and submit as a pdf file.
