Your Health Disparity Paper 2 must have these five (5) components:
- Summarize the peer-reviewed literation on the available community-based interventions to reduce or eliminate the health disparity. In this component, be sure to:
- Explain whether any of these interventions have been tested in your population
- Based on this information, provide your opinion of what types of programs would help eliminate the disparity
- Identify the specific role social workers have and can play in the eliminate of this health disparity
- Provide a one-paragraph summary of the health disparity / population from your Research Paper #1. In this component, be sure to:
- Not use the same exact sentences from your first paper as it will flag in TurnItIn
- Explain what assessments or screening tools are available to identify this health condition in individuals (i.e. how a person would find out they had X condition). In this component, be sure to:
- Explain where these assessments / screenings take place
- Provide any research evidence on the validity or utilization of these tools in your population as compared to other populations
- Identify the main legislation or policy that has been enacted to indirectly or directly address this health disparity. In this component, be sure to:
- Critique these legislative efforts and explain what policies or programs are missing
- Suggest an alternative policy to eliminate this health disparity
- Provide research evidence to support your suggestion
Guidelines
Your Health Disparity Paper 2 must follow these structural and academic guidelines:
- Paper length is six to seven (6-7) pages, not including cover and reference pages
- Any tables presented must be at the end of the paper, and are not included in the overall page count
- Citations and references are to be formatted in APA style
- In total, you need eleven (11) references
- At least four (4) reputable references related to assessments / screening tools
- At least four (4) references from original, peer-reviewed research articles related to interventions in your population
- At least three (3) references related to legislation or policy to eliminate this disparity
- Paper must be uploaded to TurnItIn on Moodle 24-hours before deadline
