You are to choose TWO articles on the same topic/issue. See topic choices listed below. These articles should come from a respected news source – either from an academic source or reputable business trade journal (e.g., Business Week, Wall St. Journal, Harvard Business Review, etc). Do not use company websites or such websites as Huffington Post since these are based on blog posts. The articles should be current—published between 2015-2025. Make sure that the articles are of sufficient length so that you have enough information to work with for the assignment. I do not need to approve the articles but if you are concerned about whether they are appropriate, you can check with me. Please let me know if you need help locating an article. The library databases of under Business are helpful – especially Business Source Premier or Business Collection.

This must be prepared as a Word document (no PDF documents). A typical length for the paper is about 5-7 pages (more is OK). The format of the paper will be considered heavily in grading you must use the subheadings (see bolded in the outline shown below) to organize your paper. Please note that papers which provide mostly a summary of each article will lose significant points.
Develop a paper that addresses the following:
1. Introduction – Write a brief introduction to your assignment, providing the title and date/source of the articles and why you chose them. Why are you interested
in this topic?
2. Summary of articles – Provide a summary of the main points of each article. Make your summary of each be clear. Also do not use a lot of quotes put each
summary in your own words.
3. Similarities/Differences how are the articles alike and how are they different in how they address the issue/topic? (Weighted heavily in grading)
4. Connection to Course Concepts – Discuss how points made in each article are related to concepts in the course (weighted heavily in grading). You need to explain how the points raised in each article are tied to certain course concepts. For example, dont just say XYZ discussed in this article is an example of expectancy theory discussed in Chapter 3 how is it related?
5. Conclusion How you write this depends on the topic of your article the following are examples of things you can comment on. How well was it written? Do you agree with the authors position or coverage of the topic? How have things changed about this issue (if at all) since the article was written? Be sure to provide proper citations for your articles at the end of the paper.

The grading of the assignment will be based on the following: 60 points for relevance of article to the course/how well you tied specific points in the articles to course concepts; 60 points for format/organization of the paper, similarities/differences between articles; 30 points for grammar, typos, in-text citations, proper citations of both articles at the end, totaling 150 points for the paper. You may use APA or MLA citation method. This paper must be submitted through the TurnItIn submission link.
